Cowboy
1 weekCowboy's ideal home
Cowboy is looking for a calm and quiet home to relax in and enjoy his golden years. He is a lovely little lad who loves nothing more than a squeaky rubber toy but would be looking for an adult only household with no visiting children as he can be quite worried around handling; his adopters will need to be understanding of his space. Adopters who take this lovely gent home will need to be committed to his ongoing grooming requirements.
Cowboy could live with another dog who is calm, but this is not a necessity. He would love to have walking buddies, however, he cannot live with cats or other small furries. Cowboy does know a good ‘sit’ under his belt and walks nicely on the lead as he likes to take his time sniffing away. He loves a smelly treat so his new adopters can use this to their advantage should they want to teach him any other basics or fun things! He will need adopters who will continue his ongoing muzzle training as well as he will require a muzzle at the vets and groomers. Cowboy has been toilet trained in the past and has been trying to continue this whilst he has been staying with us, so would only need a refresher in his new home. He would need to have a private garden to allow him to go to the toilet when needed. Once settled into his new home, Cowboy could be left for 2-4 hours at a time, but this should be introduced slowly once he has had time to get used to his new family and surroundings.
Cowboy will need to meet his adopters' multiple times with the potential for home visits prior to being adopted so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come to the centre to meet him within 48hrs of being shortlisted.
Could you be Cowboy's perfect match?
Sweet little gentleman Cowboy is a 10 and a half year Shih Tzu who just wants a cosy home for his retirement years. He loves to go out and explore the world at his own pace, sniffing away as he goes. He loves nothing more than a squeaky rubber toy and will chase them if thrown! Once a bond has been secured with his new family, he likes a little fuss over his back and head and then will continue to sniff and explore by himself when he’s had enough.
