Looking for a little shadow who will happily join you for every adventure and then snuggle up for a sofa snooze afterwards? Meet Charlie! This 6-year-old Staffy Shih Tzu cross is part cuddlebug, part explorer, and 100% people-pleaser. He loves nothing more than having fuss and soaking up all the attention — ideally while keeping one eye on the world going by.

Charlie would love a calm, understanding home where he can build his confidence and settle in at his own pace. He could live with children aged 10 or over who can give him space when he asks for it. He needs to be the only pet in the house, but with careful introductions, he could have walking buddies out and about. Out on walks he is sociable, but he does not appreciate dogs getting too close or in his face and he will very clearly tell you when he has had enough. Because of this, Charlie must be kept on a lead in public at all times.

Charlie’s ideal day is a happy mix of pottering about outside, sniffing new places, and lounging about getting endless fuss and snacks (which he always takes very gently). He is housetrained, friendly with visitors and knows a bunch of clever tricks like sit, down, paw, stand and recall. Once settled in his new home, Charlie is fine being left for a couple of hours — although he would much prefer to be with his favourite person.

Toys are fun, but Charlie is really all about the company. He enjoys a game of fetch or tug if you are playing too, but he would happily trade all the toys in the world for an afternoon of cuddles. He is super clear with his body language, making him easy to read and would suit someone who can spot when he is feeling unsure and give him a bit of space. With steady walks, a comfy spot to snooze and plenty of love, Charlie will be your best buddy in no time.
