About This Dog

Risotto's ideal home

Risotto and his friends are looking for understanding homes that can offer them the right environment to continue building their confidence.

Due to their sensitive nature and limited early experiences, they would greatly benefit from a home with access to a private garden or a quiet, secure outdoor space where they can explore safely at their own pace. Busy public areas can feel overwhelming at first, so having a calm space to adjust to the outside world is essential.

They will also need adopters who are around for most of the day initially. Leaving hours should be kept to a minimum to begin with and can then be gradually built up as they begin to feel more settled and secure in their new home.

They can live with sensible children aged 14 and over who understand the importance of giving a dog space and allowing them to approach on their own terms.

An ideal home will be one that is committed to ongoing training and socialisation, using positive, reward-based methods. Patience, consistency, and gentle encouragement will go a long way in helping Risotto and his friends grow into a confident and happy companion.

Could you be Risotto's perfect match?

Risotto and his cohort are estimated to be 8-month-old Shih Tzu crossbreeds who are slowly discovering what the world has to offer. Having come from a puppy farm, they have not had the early experiences most puppies benefit from, so everything around them can feel a little overwhelming. Despite this, they are making lovely progress and growing in confidence in their foster homes with each passing day.

They are currently quite nervous and aren't used to being handled, so they’ll need calm, patient adopters who understand that trust takes time. With kindness, consistency, and a quiet environment, Risotto has so much potential to blossom into a happy and secure companion.

Risotto would really benefit from living with a calm and confident resident dog who can show him the ropes and help him feel safe. As they are still young they will need ongoing support with basic puppy training. Some of his cohort can be rehomed as an only pet.

This sweet dogs are looking for a dedicated home that will give them the time and understanding they need. Watching them grow in confidence and come out of his shell will be incredibly rewarding for the right family.

If you feel you could offer Risotto, or one of his Shih Tzu friends, the gentle guidance and loving home they deserve, we’d love to hear from you.
