Filo and Toby's ideal home

Toby and Filo are on the search for their forever home with adopters who can shower them with love and give them all the attention they want. They could live with another dog, small furries and livestock. Toby and Filo could live with primary school aged children. They have history of finding being left worrying and therefore would be best suited to a family who are around for most of the day. It is not essential for them to go to a home with a garden pending that they get enough opportunity to go outside.

Toby and Filo are a sweet pair of Shih-Tzu’s who love going on adventurous walks and exploring new places. They can be a bit nervous of new people, but it isn’t long before they are saying a big hello and demanding your lap to snuggle up on. Both boys can be a little fussy with treats and do prefer the meatier, higher value treats that they’ll take them gently from your hand. Shih Tzu Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Shih Tzu.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Shih Tzu Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images
